Srinagar, April 25: In a significant move to simplify international travel for its customers, Bharti Airtel has announced new additions to its International Roaming (IR) portfolio, unveiling India’s first unlimited IR plans that offer unrestricted data usage across 189 countries.
The telecom major stated that the newly introduced plans are aimed at making global connectivity more convenient, affordable, and entirely hassle-free for Indian travellers.
For the long-staying NRI community, Airtel has also launched a unique recharge plan priced at ₹4000 with a validity of one year. Under this plan, customers will get 5GB of data and 100 voice minutes for use while abroad. When used in India, the same plan will provide 1.5GB of data per day along with unlimited voice calls, allowing customers to use a single plan without the need for separate recharges or switching SIM cards.

The revamped IR plans will continue to offer additional benefits including in-flight connectivity and automatic activation of services upon landing overseas. Airtel also highlighted that these plans eliminate the confusion of selecting different packs for different zones or countries and come with an auto-renewal feature for frequent travellers. Customers can manage all aspects of their international roaming services, including tracking usage and billing, through the Airtel Thanks app, which provides real-time updates and options for adding data or voice minutes as needed.
By offering a single plan valid across 189 countries and eliminating the hassle of acquiring multiple local SIM cards, Airtel’s new IR plans are set to redefine global travel for Indian users. The company believes this initiative will bring unmatched convenience and peace of mind to international travellers, ensuring that they stay connected seamlessly, wherever they go.
