Airtel launches ‘Cartoon Network Classics’ on Digital TV platform

Srinagar, Dec 29: Bharti Airtel on Monday announced the launch of ‘Airtel Cartoon Network Classics’, a new value-added entertainment channel on Airtel Digital TV, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery. The channel will feature a curated lineup of iconic animated shows from Cartoon Network, aimed at family audiences and long-time fans of classic cartoons.
An official spokesperson said the newly launched channel brings together popular animated franchises including Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Johnny Bravo and several other well-known titles that gained widespread popularity during the 1990s and early 2000s. Airtel said the channel is designed to offer nostalgic content to older viewers while introducing younger audiences to classic animation.
Commenting on the launch, Pushpinder Singh Gujral, DTH Business Head, Airtel, said the addition of Cartoon Network Classics strengthens the company’s entertainment portfolio by offering viewers access to iconic stories and characters that continue to enjoy popularity across generations. He added that the channel will be available to both DTH and IPTV users.
The channel is priced at ₹59 per month and is available on Channel 445 in both English and Hindi. It will be accessible across connected set-top boxes, including Xstream and IPTV, as well as non-connected HD and SD set-top boxes, allowing uninterrupted viewing without the need for additional hardware. Airtel said the channel will be ad-free.
Speaking on the collaboration, Arjun Nohwar, Managing Director, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said the initiative aims to preserve and extend the legacy of Cartoon Network’s classic content by making it accessible to contemporary audiences. He said the partnership with Airtel would allow Indian viewers to reconnect with well-known animated characters while introducing classic storytelling to a new generation.
Airtel said the launch of Cartoon Network Classics is part of its broader strategy to expand value-added entertainment services and strengthen its content offerings with family-friendly programming.
Subscribers can activate the channel through multiple options, including the set-top box interface, missed call facility, or the Airtel Thanks app, the company said.
