Airtel distributes warm clothes, blankets among destitute

Srinagar, Jan 11: As Kashmir experiences sub-zero temperatures, during the Chillai Kalan, Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, distributed warm clothes and blankets among destitute families of the valley on Thursday.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Convenerm, an official spokesperson of the company said Airtel team took to the streets of Noor Bagh, Bemina Srinagar , khansahib Budgam and Patushai Bandipora with a commitment to assist the local community by distributing blankets to individuals affected by the harsh winter weather.

“The dedicated efforts aimed to identify and reach out to the most vulnerable sections of the society, extending a helping hand and providing comfort during this challenging period”.

He said the initiative was carried out as part of Airtel's commitment to giving back to society and aiding the community during times of adversity. “The act of distributing blankets not only aims to offer physical warmth but also serves as a gesture of solidarity and support to the resilient locals facing the extreme weather conditions in the region,” spokesperson stated in the statement.

Spokesperson said the enthusiastic participation of Airtel officials and their contribution has been met with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation from the local populace. “The initiative was marked by cheerful smiles, warm embraces, and a sense of unity as blankets were distributed, leaving a lasting impact on the community”.
