Bandipora, October 13: Ahsanul Haq Chishti Monday officially assumed his responsibilities as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Wullar Manasbal Development Authority (WMDA) on Monday.
Chishti’s appointment to the position follows a recent order from the administration transferring and posting him to lead the key development body after serving the department of Information and Public Relations.
Upon his arrival at the authority, the new CEO was warmly welcomed by officials and local stakeholders, who expressed their support for his leadership.
Demonstrating a hands-on approach from the outset, Chishti later conducted an extensive inspection round of various assets and properties under the Authority’s jurisdiction. During the visit, he emphasized the importance of their proper upkeep and issued necessary directives for their maintenance.
The Wullar Manasbal Development Authority is tasked with the conservation, management, and overall development of the vital Wullar Lake and Manasbal Lake ecosystems, which are of significant environmental and economic importance to the region.
