Erring traders penalized, rotten vegetables destroyed

Sumbal, July 29: The District Administration Bandipora on Monday conducted Market checking in Sumbal Sub-Division of North Kashmir's Bandipora District.
A Team of officials led by Tehsilder Sumbal Sonawari Firdous Ahmad Comprising officials of Revenue and Legal Metrology departments conducted a surprise market checking and destroyed a huge quantity of rotten vegetables besides seizing several expired eatables.
An official said Rs 2200 was realized as fine while 10kgs of Polythene bags were also recovered from the traders.
On the occasion shoppers were directed to strictly abide by the rate list fixed from time to time.
Tehsilder Sumbal said that the drive shall continue in future too and action as per law against violators of food safety and legal metrology laws shall be taken.
