Admin directs Teachers positing in Gurez to report by 17th Feb
Srinagar, Feb 13: As the schools in the Kashmir valley are set to reopen after the winter vacations, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora has directed all the teachers and masters posted in the winter wonderland of Gurez to return before the end of the winter vacations to ensure they aren’t stranded amid snowfall as predicted by the Met Department.
The Gurez Valley is currently under heavy snowfall, isolating it from the rest of Kashmir. The only road connection is cut off, with BRO working to clear the route for safe passage.
An official said that the chief education officer Bandipora has directed the teachers that the road connectivity from Bandipora to Gurez is now open for traffic. Therefore, they should plan their return to the valley before 17th February, taking into consideration the upcoming snowy predictions.
The official also mentioned that this direction was issued with the reopening of schools in the Kashmir valley after winter vacations in mind, in order to ensure smooth schooling and examination schedules.
Pertinently, schools in the Kashmir valley are set to reopen on 20th February. (KS)
