Poonch, Feb 28: Indian Army on Wednesday concluded the border battle Hockey cup final in which HBF NCR Hockey Academy, Sonipat, Haryana emerged victorious in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.
PRO Defence Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said that between the ongoing jubilations and mise-en-scene of exuberance and sporting revelation that is Border Battle Hockey Cup conducted in the town of Poonch.
“As the much celebrated event watches its dawn slowly into dusk the enthusiasm and exuberance does not seem to slow down,” he said.
“On Wednesday, Finals of Men's Hockey Cup were played between Poonch XI ,Poonch and HBF NCR Hockey Academy, Sonipat, Haryana,” he said.
He also said that the boys displayed a spectacular performance wherein the sticks clashed and the shoulders bumped for the Glory of being the "Champions of the Border Battle Hockey Cup"
“In nail biting final both the teams vied for four quarters in which HBF NCR Hockey Academy, Sonipat, Haryana emerged victorious and rightful owner of the ornate trophy and accolades,” the PRO said, adding that after witnessing the exciting Finals, the Finalists were presented the well deserving trophy along with much prized Arjuna Awardee signed Hockey Sticks.
He also said that the teams in the past eight days have displayed true spirit of sportsmanship and never give up spirit thereby fuelling the youth of town with Josh and enthusiasm of Hockey.
