Army Organises lecture on road safety in Rajouri

Srinagar, Feb 16: Amid growing concerns of road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army Friday organised a lecture on road safety in Danna village, Rajouri district.

Defence Spokesperson said that the Indian Army organised a lecture on road safety in village Danna, Rajouri district. “With an aim to reduce the number of road traffic accidents in the region,” he said.

The lecture, he said, was attended by approximately 30 pers, including teachers from local schools. “Teachers were encouraged to educate children about road safety aspects. The residents were informed about road traffic accidents and precautions to avoid it”.

“The residents were educated that road safety is a shared responsibility that requires concerted efforts from each individual,” he said, adding that the Indian Army is making all efforts to connect to AWAM and work together with them to make road safety a priority and ensure that every journey is a safe one. 

“At the end an open house discussion was held to clarify their doubts. The lecture was well taken by the populace and they were grateful for the educational interaction carried out by the Army,” he added.
