DC Bandipora reviews progress of PM Vishwakarma Yojana
Bandipora Jan 18: In order to review the progress of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY), Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel ul Rehman Rather on Thursday convened a meeting at Conference Hall, Mini-Secretariat, Bandipora.
PMVY is aimed to provide financial assistance to artisans for skill development and business growth.
It was given out that vishwakarma scheme initially covers 18 trades including Carpenters, Boat Makers, Armourers, Blacksmiths, Hammer and Tool Kit, Makers, Locksmiths, Goldsmiths, Potters, Sculptor, Stone breakers, Cobblers (Shoesmiths/ Footwear artisans), Masons (Rajmistri), Basket/Mat/Broom Makers/Coir Weavers, Doll & Toy Makers, Barbers, Garland makers, Washermen, Tailors and Fishing Net Maker.
Addressing the participants, Shakeel ur Rehman said that Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY) is meant to uplift the artisans and craftspeople and to augment their skills for the modern market.
He said the proper implementation of schemes shall enhance the accessibility and quality of products and services offered by traditional artisans and craftsmen.
The DC asked the concerned to work diligently to ensure the grassroot level benefit of PMVY.
Shakeel Ul Rehman also urged the artisans to get themselves registered through CSCs and get benefits under the scheme.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad wani, SDM Sumbal, Amir Choudhary, BDO Arin Shariq Iqbal, BDO Sumbal Nadia Shameem, EO MC Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad and other concerned officers.
