Bandipora, Dec 22: The Bandipora Journalist Association condemned the inappropriate behavior of the Executive Engineer of Roads and Buildings (R&B) Bandipora towards a senior journalist on Friday.
The journalist, working in electronic media, covered a story on the sluggish progress of the Mini Secretariat-Nusoo road, damaged months ago in heavy rains and still awaiting reopening for smooth traffic.
Despite the journalist's professional approach, the R&B executive engineer responded with rudeness and misconduct after the story. The engineer even went so far as to label the journalist as "very illiterate," reflecting the official's dismissive attitude toward public issues.
The Bandipora Journalist Association strongly condemned the executive engineer's behavior and called upon Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad, and District Information Officer (DIO) to intervene and take strict action against the official.
The association emphasized that any mistreatment of the media in Bandipora would not be tolerated, highlighting the journalists' dedication to the district's development while upholding their professional responsibilities.
