Bandipora contractors accuse MCB official of harassment

Bandipora, Dec 07: The contractor’s association in Bandipora on Thursday alleged harassment by officers at Municipal Council Bandipora alleging that their bills have been withheld for pity reasons.

In a statement issued by the Contractors association Bandipora, president contractors association said that withholding bills has pushed contractors into deep debt, triggering severe consequences for their families.

The statement also reveals that despite interventions from higher authorities, the officers in Accounts Section obstinate stance on delaying the processing of bills.

"The contractors are facing challenges as unpaid bills have directly impacted our families, who are now teetering on the brink of starvation due to prolonged financial strain," while speaking with the Kashmir Convener, one of the contractors said.

"We hope higher authorities will swiftly intervene to mediate and find a resolution that ensures fair treatment for the contractors and the timely disbursement of their pending bills," he added.

The contractor’s association demanded action against the officer and appealed to higher authorities for early intervention so that their sufferings will be eased.
