Srinagar, July 14: In a historic moment, the National Anthem echoed within the precincts of the Srinagar District Court Complex during a meeting organized by the Kashmir Advocates Association.
It marked the first time in nearly three decades that the National Anthem was sung at the commencement of a lawyers' gathering.
The meeting, held at the BAR room in the Petition Writer's block, was presided over by Advocate Waseem Gul, the President of the Kashmir Advocates Association. Adv. Gul assured the lawyers that their genuine demands would be raised with the authorities for redressal.
Sources familiar with the meeting stated that it was a significant milestone as the sounds of the National Anthem reverberated in the Lawyers' room at the Srinagar District Court Complex. However, witnesses said, the historic occasion was marred by an unpleasant incident when a group of ‘anti-national elements’ caused disruption, attempting to disturb the event.
Despite the disturbance, the Lawyers' meeting proceeded as planned, with Adv. Waseem Gul and other representatives of the Kashmir Advocates Association vowing to address the legitimate concerns of the lawyers and seek resolutions from the authorities.
The association members said the singing of the National Anthem during the lawyers' meet symbolizes a renewed sense of patriotism and unity, highlighting the importance of upholding national values and fostering a harmonious environment in the legal community.
