Srinagar 22 June: Srinagar police arrested two persons on Wednesday evening on charges of rape and abduction of a minor girl.
In a tweet, the Srinagar police claimed that they have arrested two persons identified as Sahil Javid, son of Javid Sodagar, and Sahil Yosuf, son of Yosuf Dar, both residents of Habakadal, Srinagar. The arrests were made after receiving a complaint from the victim girl's family (name withheld). With the help of leads and technical assistance, the Srinagar police apprehended the two individuals within hours of the complaint.
Reports state that a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and taken to District Ganderbal, where she was reportedly raped by the accused.
An FIR has been registered under the relevant sections, and investigations have been initiated.
