Bandipora, June 13: Residents of Umar Colony, located in the Gund Dachina village of Bandipora, are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of proper road connectivity.
Locals said that a section of approximately 0.5 kilometers requires urgent attention, as it consists of a Nallah type road where water flows continuously.
“The absence of a suitable road has particularly affected the elderly and school-going children, making it challenging for them to travel, especially during rainy weather,” the locals said.
While the Rural Development Department partially constructed the road last year, the 0.5-kilometer stretch was left unattended, exacerbating the hardships faced by the residents.
Meanwhile, In response, the affected individuals have reached out to the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, seeking immediate intervention and urging the concerned departments to initiate the process of establishing a well-constructed road to connect the colony.
The residents of Umar Colony are hopeful that the appeal to the authorities will prompt the necessary action and lead to the timely resolution of the road connectivity issue, bringing relief to the community and improving the overall quality of life in the area.
