NCC’s Ladakh Battalion kick starts Annual Training Camp
Srinagar, May 23: The first Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh on Tuesday kick started its first Annual Training Camp at an Altitude of 10,700 ft at Karu, Leh.
Defence spokesperson in Srinagar in a statement said the aim of organising the camp is to introduce Cadets to a regimental way of life, community living and confidence building. He said 336 Cadets from 19 Institutions of Leh and Kargil Districts are participating in the Camp.
While undergoing training on practical aspects of Military subjects and conducting Social Service and Community Development activities to spread awareness, various adventure activities and visits to places of Historical and Cultural significance including Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) have been planned.
Spokesperson said Major focus is being laid on selecting Girl Cadets for the Kartavya Path in the upcoming Republic Day Parade 2024. Cadets are also being screened and shortlisted for the Best Cadet and Youth Exchange Programme(YEP) competitions to represent the Jammu Kashmir &Ladakh Directorate in the Republic Day Camp at New Delhi.
