Bandipora, May 20: President Municipal Council Bandipora Basharat Najar on Saturday formally kick started 'Meri Life Mera Swachh Shehar' campaign in the town.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bandipora Wali Mohammad was also present on the occasion while the programme was attended by the councilors, officials of the council besides a large gathering of locals including senior citizens.
President Bandipora on the occasion informed that the aim of the campaign was to conduct special extensive door to door waste collection drives.
He said that during the fortnight Programne staring from May 20, there will an extensive collection of plastic items, old books, used clothes and footwear from the households of Bandipora town. He informed that the collected items shall later be refurbished, reused or recycled to save the environment.
President Municipal Council Bandipora urged the general public for their cooperation in making the campaign successful.
He further requested people to come forward for the development of Bandipora as a whole and town in particular.
CEO Wali Mohammad on the occasion said that the district administration has always provided full and every kind of support for keeping Bandipora neat, clean and hygienic.
