Geelani calls for protests after Friday prayers

‘Questions the continuous detention of the Handwara girl’

Srinagar, Apr 28 (KNS): While terming the continuous imprisonment of Handwara Girl, not arresting the forces personals involved in the murder of five innocent youths in Handwara, unjust suspension of five government employees and not allowing the funeral prayers of the late pro-freedom leader Amanullah Khan Sahab as worst kind of state terrorism, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani appealed for peaceful protest demonstration against this after the Friday congregational prayers on 29th April.
He said that new chapter of the PDP-BJP government had unleashed a reign of terror and hardships in the state and the army and police has been given a free hand.
In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that the government forces had snatched the 5 precious human lives in the Handwara massacre and it remains unattended till date.
The government announced an enquiry commission in an old traditional way but no serious efforts were made in this regard.
He said that immediately after the murder of 5 people, the authorities removed the forces bunker from the Handwara Chowk on which the pro-Indian politicians held celebrations as if the murdered ones had got their blood money and they also tried to take its credit.
Syed Ali Geelani said that it is the devious politics and these types of politicians have nothing to do with the life and death of the common masses. He also expressed his sorrow over the intellect of those people who vote or support these politicians.
Hurriyat (G) chairman said that until our nation will learn from its mistakes and remove its weaknesses and they will learn to differentiate between right and wrong, our path to freedom will get lengthened.
Syed Ali Geelani also raised question over the continuous detention of the Handwara Girl and said that the unnecessary custody of the affected Girl put a big question mark over the authenticity of the video clip which was recorded in the police station and which was aimed to divert the attention of the people from the innocent killings. Now the truth is slowly coming to fore that the police under a well thought out plan had tried to mislead the people and are still covering the truth.
While expressing his deep sorrow and surprise over suspending the five government employees from their services instead of acting against the forces personals involved in the murder of five innocent youths, Syed Ali Geelani said that it is like “Ulta Choor Quatwaal ko Dantai” (thief turning the table on the policeman) and instead of murderers those people are punished who had mourned over the innocent killings. It is the height of the lawlessness and its example is hard to find in any civilized society.
While appealing for peaceful protest demonstration against this lawlessness of the government on 29 April after the Friday prayers, the Hurriyat (G) Chairman while addressing the people said that remaining silent over this kind of oppression is a great sin and it is also against our faith. By holding peaceful protest demonstration, we will send a message to the whole world that the Kashmiris are facing worst kind of Indian state terrorism and the human lives are in extreme danger in this part of the world. The government forces here had got license and free hand to kill the civilians at their will. No FIR, no case, no trial and no punishment too.
Syed Ali Geelani however appealed the youths to remain peaceful and disciplined while protesting against the oppression and don’t give any chance to the uncontrolled and undisciplined government forces to cause anymore damage.
Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that this program will also be a token protest against the disallowing of the funeral prayers of the late Amanullah Khan.
Syed Ali Geelani also appealed the people of Pir Panjal and Chinab Valley to participate in this program in solidarity with their subjugated brethren and express their dismay against the state terrorism. (KNS)
