CAPD conducts market checking in B’Pora

Bandipora, April 21:- The Consumer Affairs and Public distribution department of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district under the supervision of Assistant Director today inspected different markets of Bandipora district including Nowpora, Kaloosa, Nebripora, Ajar, and main market, and booked dozens of traders for violating rules.

The team released fine of Rs. 2900/- from erring traders and destroyed a large quantity of rotten vegetables and fruits on the spot. During the drive, vendors, hoteliers and bakery shop owners were directed to display rate lists issued by the competent authority and in case any ingredient is essential to be added in food items, certificate from competent authority/Department as per the standards laid down in food safety Act for adding the same shall be displayed.
Its pertinent to mention here that  earlier Kashmir Convener had published a story regarding illegal profiteering in Bandipora. in response to this the Assistant Director CAPD Bandipora, Shariq Iqbal constituted a squad for market checking, earlier he had assured Kashmir Convener that he will act against violators.
The people hailed Kashmir Convener for raising issues of public importance. “The market checking was intensified today and various traders have been booked who had violated, It will act as a deterrent for traders for illegal profiteering,” said Tanveer Khan of Nowpora area.
