ACD Ganderbal conducts site visit of Lakes/Ponds proposed to be developed under Mission Amrit Sarovar in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, May 26: In order to achieve the mandate of the District level Committee recently constituted by the Govt. under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner for effective implementation and coordination of the Mission Amrit Sarovar, Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (JKAS), on Thursday, visited Wakura Block of District Ganderbal in order to conduct first hand stock/ site visit of proposed lakes/Ponds to be developed under "Mission Amrit Sarovar". 

The mission stands recently launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister on April 24, 2022, at Palli Panchayat in Samba district of J&K on the occasion of “National Panchayati Raj Diwas.”

Deputy Commissioner-led 7-member District level Committee stands recently constituted by the Govt. for effective implementation & coordination of the Mission Amrit Sarovar in all the districts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Besides the Deputy Commissioner (concerned) as its Chairman, the committee comprises of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Divisional Forest Officer, Superintending Engineer/Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department & Executive Engineer RDD as its members while Assistant Commissioner Development of the district has been designated as the Member Secretary of the committee.

The officer emphasized upon people's participation right from the step of planning, through the step of DPR formulation/ execution & completion of the mission for better coordination and fruitful results.

The ACD stressed upon early formulation of DPRs of the identified projects as per the guidelines of the Mission so that the desired targets are achieved in a time-bound manner.

He impressed upon working in a mission mode with a coordinated effort of all the members of the committee to meet the desired targets and work meticulously while taking PRIs & general public of the areas on board right from the step of planning upto the level of execution of all these Amrit Sarovar projects

Among others, the officer was accompanied by the Executive Engineer (REW) Ganderbal, Mr. Noor Mohammad, Block Development Officer Wakura, Mr. Hakeem Aqib (JKAS), BDC Chairperson Wakura, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Malla & Assistant Engineer (REW), Mr. Danish Shafi.
