Bandipora, May 03: Marking the pious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, pleasantries were exchanged with the children of Kanzalwan village.
A official said Celebrating the festival with posterity of Gurez, an event was organised to educate them about the importance of Eid and the month of Ramadan. A short talk was delivered by the Maulvi and BDC Chairman on the concerned topics.
Gurez valley being cut off from rest of the world for over 6 months in a year due to harsh winters and heavy snowfall, witnesses a profound interdependence between the Army and the locals. “Eid is a day to smile and laugh, and what could be a better way to do it than doing it with these little messengers of Allah. It's a day to be grateful for all of his heavenly blessings on us”.
Officials said the locals were elated by the initiative of the Indian Army towards engaging children in such a productive activity while ensuring holistic development and safety of the region.
