Jammu,March 27 :- Governor,N.N.Vohra’s role in postponing a hasty step in dissolving the Assembly has been appreciated by the BJP led NDA Government though it has irked the National Conference,the Congress and the Panthers Party which were demanding early dissolution of the Assembly.
The rationale behind the demand for early dissolution of the Assembly was to allow the state to face fresh elections and that too after over a year.But Vohra has shown patience and administrative
capabilities of very high order.He did not listen to the demands made by OmarAbdullah and Chairman Panthers Party,Harsh Dev Singh and allowed sufficient time to the PDP to think of saving the state from facing early elections.
By allowing time Vohra wanted that fresh elections could have vitiated the security environment in the state,particularly in the
Kashmir valley.Otherwise he had no soft corner for the BJP or the PDP because his( Vohra’s) term as Governor stands extended till 2018.
Since the BJP led NDA Government has appreciated the level of patience shown by Vohra change of Governorship in the state is ruled out.If Vohra wanted sufficient time to be given to PDP to form a coalition Government he had no personal interest.It was the security
of the state that was of great interest to Vohra.He knew it better than anybody else that once the poll bugle was sounded agencies across the LOC and the IB may get active in devising new ways for pushing groups of militants into the state for raising the level of violence.
This was what Vohra wanted to prevent nd his patience seem to have
yielded results.
If Omar and Harsh Dev wanted fresh elections they expected that the the NC may uproot the PDP from the valley and the Panthers Party may maul the BJP in the Jammu region with the help of the
Congress.But Vohra had nothing personal in his art of evincing and displaying patience for allowing the BJP and the PDP to form a fresh coalition Government.It is hoped that the BJP and the PDP may not
dishnour Vohra’s patience.
