Bandipora police arrests two drug Bootleggers at Garoora
Bandipora, February 09: Bandipora Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two drug bootleggers at Garoora village and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
An official spokesperson said continuing its drive against the menace of drugs and illicit liquor, Bandipora Police arrested two bootleggers at Wullar Vantage Garoora and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
He said acting on a specific information a police party led by SHO Argam Masood ul Hassan under the supervision of DySP Faizan Ali established a Naka at Wullar Vantage Garoora Aragam. “During naka checking, a Scooty bearing registration number JK15A- 4850 was signalled to stop and during checking of the said vehicle, two suspicious persons were found to be carrying 14 illicit liquor bottles in the said vehicle”.
The individuals were detained and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. The accused have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Beigh @ Shahzad S/O Gh Mohd Beigh and Mohd Mustafa Beigh S/O Ab Rashid both residents of Guzarbal Bankoot Bandipora.
During Preliminary enquiry, it came to surface that the illicit liquor was meant for sale in the general area of Bandipora. Upon this case FIR no. 01/2022 under relevant sections of Excise act has been registered in Police station Argam and further investigation taken up.
