BANDIPORA, JANUARY 26: The Officials of District Information Centre Bandipora were awarded on 73rd Republic Day celebrations at SK Sports Stadium Bandipora for their distinguished and meritorious performance.
On the occasion, the Certificates of Appreciation were received by Hilal Ahmad Lone and Waseem Ahmad on behalf of the department. The District Information Centre was felicitated for acting as a bridge between the Government and the Public.
“District Information Centre Bandipora is an interface between District administration, media and people at large. The responsibility of the department is to project, highlight and disseminate the activities of the District Administration through various Media,” said an official. He said the department was felicitated for giving due coverage to the welfare schemes during the year besides playing an important role in spreading awareness about Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the department through its social media channels has been able to create a link between the government and the people especially youth informing them about various welfare schemes, success stories and motivating educated youth to avail the benefit of these schemes to establish their own income generating units.
Several journalists were also felicitated on the occasion including Wahid Rafiqui, Suhail Rather and Sajid Rasool.
