Indian Army celebrates Parakram Diwas in Machhal Valley
Kupwara, January 23: Indian Army on Sunday celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of iconic freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose in Macchal Valley of Kupwara district with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.
An official spokesperson said commencing this year the Central Government decided to start the Republic Day celebrations from January 23 to include Netaji's anniversary, which will be celebrated as ‘Parakram Diwas’ (day of valour).
He said the children paid tribute to Netaji by making a life size snow sculpture of Neta Ji. This snow sculpture was prepared despite inclement weather and snowfall since last 3 days. “This is an apt testimony of the patriotic fervor and respect for Netaji amongst the locals”.
The children also took part in painting the portrait of Netaji on paper and reciting his famous freedom struggle quotes.
