Army celebrates “Army Day” at Kanzalwan
Bandipora, January 15: Indian Army on Saturday celebrated Army Day at Kanzalwan in Snowbound Gurez Valley.
In a statment issued to Kashmir Convener, official spokesperson of the Army stationed at Kanzalwan said the Day two major events were organised in the day long celebrations besides Army receiving surprise return gifts from children of the village.
He said a patriotic movie Shershah was displayed in all villages simultaneously to children and youth while a medical examination of all aspiring youth to join Army was carried out at Kanzalwan Hq.
Officials said to educate and motivate the youth and children on various Indian Army’s victories in war with an aim to integrate the youth into the mainstream, the movie Shershah was screened in the villages.
"Project Recruitment" intiative continued with a medical examination of total 17 aspiring youth after document check and verification during Vijay Diwas celebration," They added. " Since the document verification process is completed the BN will now commence with the trainnings for recruitment of the youth in the AOR."
Spokesperson said in mid of Covid 19 outbreak, Army Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and with ray of hope for better future opportunities for youth thereby combining the future of far flung Gurez with the future of the hinterland.
Earlier official spokesperson said Army Area Domination Patrol was blocked by a group of children at Kanzalwan area around 1200hrs.
To the surprise of Army Area Domination Patrol, children distributed gifts and showered their affection by hugging the Army team. "This adorable gesture by the children to Army personnel on the occasion of Army Day not only touched the heart of all soldiers but also was an enchanting sight in the locality signifying normalcy and strong bond shared by Awam and Jawans in Kanzalwan sub sector".
