Firdosa Akhtar expresses gratitude to Lt Governor for augmentation of Garoora Receiving Station
Demands streamlining of power supply in the areas receiving erratic power supply Bandipora Jan 03: DDC Member Firdosa Akhtar on Monday lauded the step taken by the LG administration regarding augmentation of receiving station Garoora/Nadihal.
In a statement issued to Kahsmir Convener, Akhtar said the augmentation of Garoora Receiving station will solve the long-pending demand of the people of regular power during the winter season in the area.
She said the upgradation of receiving station Garoora will be beneficial for the people as it will resolve the power crisis issues in Garoora and the adjacent areas. “I am very much thankful to the government, Chief Engineer PDD, Executive Engieer PDD Bandipora, AEE and all the other officers for this step” she said in the statement and hoped power supply in the area will be improved after the augmentation of this receiving station. “There have been a lot of power cuts in the area during the Winter season”.
Meanwhile Firdosa Akhtar said that the erratic power supply in Bandipora has compounded the difficulties of common people and also caused immense hardships to the students preparing for various examinations. “Contrary to the government claims that power cuts will be made as per the notified schedule, the electricity in various areas of Bandipora keeps playing hide and seek," she said.
She said the people are facing lot of inconvenience due to power shortage in the chilling weather conditions. Power supply in the many areas remains affected for hours together and the concerned authorities are turning blind eye towards the issue.
She demanded that the power supply should be streamlined in the areas, receiving erratic electricity.
