In a statement issued today, spokesperson said the delegation comprised of National Spokesperson Nasir Khuehami and Coordinator Mudasir Dar Called on Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and National Spokesperson of RJD Manoj Kumar Jha in Delhi and apprised him about various issues of kashmiri students studying in mainland and issue of 3 kashmiri students who were booked under infamous colonial era Sedition law, accusing them of raising provocative slogans, a claim which has been contested by college authorities on record.

National Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that, Since no voice from any mainstream political party in Kashmir has come in their support or arranged legal defense for them in court of law, despite having gigantic resources at their disposal, we are reaching out now to Opposition leaders of other states, so that they will take up matter with Concerned authorities.

Sedition and FIR are very harsh punishment for the act they did and it will ruin their careers and will further alienate them. These harsh charges on WhatsApp will have serious consequences on the academic and future career of the students. It may have serious repercussions, psyco-somatic consequences on the students both in the long term and short term. Slapping Sedition on them will put their career and whole parents resources at stake, khuehami told Rajya Sabha MP.

Delegation Informed Rajya Sabha MP that Mere Whatsapp status might have hurted sentiment of people, but we need to reach out to them and counsel them rather than react with harsh decisions. No doubt they made this mistake, but we hope that they will be given a chance to return to studies and their future should not be destroyed in the larger interest of the country.

Assuring his full support, the member of Parliament informed the Student delegation that he will take up matters with the Home Minister and draw attention of those who are at helm of affairs towards the detention of these 3 students which prima facie appears to be arbitrary and politically motivated.
