Bandipora September 01: DC Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad today held a public interaction programme at Girls Higher Secondary Bandipora, and conducted a marathon tour of main market & adjoining areas, as part of the weekly public interaction program.
The programme was attended by Chairman Municipal Council Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora Sheikh Tariq, Exen PHE Ab. Khaliq Qureshi, Exen R&B, EO MC Bandipora Wali Mohammad, DySP HQ Idrees Ahmad, Traders Federation Bandipora, Civil society members, president Sumo stand and officers from District administration.
The participants raised various issues of Bandipora main town including parking, drainage, macdamization and other issues.
Dc Bandipora issued on-spot direction for resolving various issues.
He said Bandipora-Srinagar road is taken up under languishing projects and will be macadamised within shortest possible time. He said out of totat stretch of 58 kms of Bandipora-srinagar road only 8 kms are pending.
He said drainage and waste disposal in town is taken up with priority and alternative landfill site for waste disposal will be identified for waste disposal. He also directed concerned agency to properly maintain drainage of town and bus stand.
He said Hospitals in Bandipora are working properly and bottlenecks if any will be resolved immediately. Dr owais said administration has adopted zero tolerance towards encroachment and directed all the line agencies to remove encroachments at an earliest.
Dr Owais urged all the unvaccinated people to go for vaccination without delay. He said vaccines are an essential protection to fight against Covid 19 pandemic. He urged shopkeepers and public transporters not to render services to the persons without masks. He said to avoid another lock down following CAB is essential. He also interacted with youth and students at the School. He urged them to think out of box with regard to employment opportunities and asked them to prefer entrepreneurship.
