Bandipora, 04 June: In Ajar area of Bandipora district, Muslim community came forward to assist the Pandit community to perform the last rites of a women who breathed her last in Bandipora on Friday.
A pandit woman -Rattan Rani Bhat (90) wife of one of the most popular teachers of his times in Bandipora- Late Pt. Kashi Nath Bhat of Ajar Bandipora breathed her last at her home in Ajar locality of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Muslims in large numbers participated in her last rites.
Eyewitnesses told that muslims and pandits join hands to make all arrangements for the last rites of the deceased. The relatives of hindu women, while expressing gratitude to the Muslim neighbors, said they live together from ages and have lived in all thick and thin depite political turmoils around.
