Yekwatt holds Seminar in Budgam on rising heart Attacks
Bandipora, Feb 15: Yekwatt, a humanitarian Organization here on Monday held seminar on abrupt Surge in heart attacks in kashmir, in an effort to raise awareness on heart attack & its risk factors at Conference hall DC Office Budgam. DC Budgam Shahbaz Mirza was Chief Guest on the Occasion. The Seminar was orgainsed, in an effort to raise awareness on heart attack and its risk factors. This event was attended by large gathering of Students, Asha Workers, teachers and people from different walks of life.
The speakers and members Dr. Sheikh Aijaz, Fasil Ali, Mehran Sofi, Mohsin Ahmad, Mir Imran, Sam wani highlighted the concept, need, details of the save heart Kashmir initiative and its impact in the community. The seminar talked about how people who are genetically predisposed to heart attacks and cannot actually reverse the risk still can make amends by trying to adopt a sensible lifestyle by making a few modifications in their food & exercise habits.
Speaking on the Occasion, Dr Sheikh Aijaz explained in details related the said theme of event. He said that people have confusion as they claim that there is no difference between Heart attack and Cardiac arrest, adding that people need to understand the essence of facts. Speaking on the Occasion DC Budgam Shahbaz Mirza said that, When a person is getting a heart attack, every second matters. The quicker you take action, the better it is to treat it and prevent it from getting fatal. To quickly recognise symptoms of a mild heart attack, it is important you learn about common signs and symptoms.
Addressing the Audience, National Coach and Chairman Ali Sports Academy warned that if a person has diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, is obese or a smoker, the risk of heart diseases is higher. He said patients should consult their physicians & get a recommended diet plan to keep their & blood pressure under control. Speaking on the Occasion, Mehran Sofi, Vice President of Yekwatt underscored the need for adopting an active, healthy and happy lifestyle to prevent cardiac diseases. He said that, people are to become aware about the symptoms of the heart disease because if a heart attack occurs and if a patient does not seek medical attention for a day, he is finished.
Social Activist and Convenor of Yekwatt Mohsin Ahmad said that the public at large has to be advised through media, through camps, through that any symptom of chest pain, any sudden shortness of breath, any sudden loss of consciousness in a young person could mean a heart attack and they should immediately seek (medical) attention. He is not necessarily going to die but can suffer permanent damage.
Another Civil Society Activist Sami Wani said patients who took blood pressure pills at bedtime were one-third less likely to suffer from a heart attack or stroke than those who took pills in the morning, while Quoting Study. Mir Imran, Secretary of Yekwatt presented Vote of thanks to Audience and guests and disturbed appreciation certificates and trophies among speakers and Covid Warriors.
