Srinagar, March 13, CNS: One militant was killed in a brief encounter in Shutloo area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.
Police Officials told CNS that after receiving specific inputs, a joint team of 32 RR, 92 Bt. CRPF and SOG Rafiabad intercepted the militants during a naka at Shutlu village of Rafiabad.
When intercepted militants opened fire on the forces and in the ensuing exchange of fire one militant identified as Mudasir Ahamed Bhar S/O Sanaullah Bhat R/O Shatlu Rafiabad was killed till late in the afternoon.
Reportedly Mudasir had joined militancy only eight days ago.
The area was cordoned off by the government forces and the gunfight was going on when reports last came in
