Srinagar, Jan 8 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party said that the oath taking ceremony by Mehbooba Mufti may take “some time” as the party president is in emotional shock after the demise of the father, chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“Mehbooba Ji is in emotional shock and mourning. It may take some time for her to take a decision and get ready (for the oath taking ceremony). She may consult, seek advice or give advice. The decision on oath taking will take some time, but will happen as soon as possible,” a senior leader told KNS.
Over the speculations of the party having met for the decision, the leader said: “No meeting took place till now. Everybody is in mourning, Mufti sahab was like a father to all the party members,” the leader said.
He said that Mehbooba Mufti is the “only one” in the PDP deserving to be the next chief minister of the state.
The leader said that the party structure is likely to remain same after the president becomes chief minister. (KNS)
