PDP-BJP government a monumental failure: NC

Sagar, Nasir address one day convention at Homshalibugh, Devsar

Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNS): National Conference on Saturday lashed out at PDP –BJP government for creating mess, both political as well as administrative, in just over eight months of taking over the reins of administration and putting people especially the flood victims virtually at the brink of collapse.

While addressing a one day convention separately at Devsar and Homshalibugh constituencies NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar who was accompanied by Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, Sagar said the lack of any visible effort and the government’s abject failure to put across a political view to GoI can have serious repercussions in a state like Jammu & Kashmir.

“We all know how Mufti Sayed was snubbed by PM at a recent event in Srinagar where Modi clearly rejected any advice on Jammu & Kashmir. Even after that, just to ensure that he holds on the CMs chair, he chose not to raise his voice. By doing this, Mufti has wilfully accepted that he has accepted the relation between his party and BJP as that of a master and a servant,” Sagar said adding, “The interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir should have been bartered with.”

On the rehabilitation of flood victims sagar said, “Even after the package was announced J&K government has failed miserably to address genuine concerns of those whose houses, businesses and crop had severely damaged in the Sept 2014 floods.”

“It is irony that the same PDP which before elections promised so much for people are now playing as a second fiddle to BJP. They have failed on all fronts.”

Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani while underlining the importance of political outreach said, “People of Jammu & Kashmir have always looked upto its leadership to address the political nuances but this dispensation of PDP and BJP has done nothing on that front. Mehbooba Mufti who before elections had proposed self rule as a panacea for all ills has suddenly forgotten to even name it after coming to power.”

The Provincial President said the engine of development is gaining rust and the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity has become a fact of the past. “What really is Mehbooba Mufti doing after making lot of promises and showing dreams to the people”, Nasir said.

The leaders stressed upon its party cadre to make the programme of NC a success and asked to them to gear up and resist the divisive forces who are hell bent in vitiating the peaceful atmosphere. The convention was attended by South Zone President Sakina Itoo, South Zone Vice President and MLA Altaf Kaloo, District President Kulgam and MLA Homshalibugh Ab Majeed Bhat, MLC Dr Bashir Ah Veeri and other prominent leaders.
