SRINAGAR, October 10: A group of students from Department of Convergent Journalism, Central University of Kashmir who got their 4th semester results on Wednesday demanded that an independent committee should be set up by the Vice chancellor to check validity of the media internship certificates submitted by the students.

“Many of our batchmates had done no internships…coordinator was well aware about this…but they have been given equal or even more marks than those who labored in winter months here in press colony,” said a group of students.

They said many of the submitted certificates are fraudulently obtained from online news portals of their friends without any proper work in any professional media organization. “We had no problem with even those fraud certificates because they are our classmates but how they are getting more marks on those fake certificates than us on our real ones…this is sheer injustice”

We want an independent committee should be set up by the Vice Chancellor whose probe should end within days otherwise we would approach Vigilance organization, said students.
