Srinagar, Nov 5: Taking forward its Customer Care Town Hall series, J&K Bank Thursday held a second meeting through its Zonal Office in Anantnag.

An official spokesperson said around 150 customers and all Branch Managers of the Zone besides senior Bank officials joined for a direct dialogue on service delivery, grievance redressal and safe digital banking.

General Manager (Customer Care) Narjay Gupta chaired the meeting in the presence of General Manager & Divisional Head (Kashmir) Arshad Qadri and Chief Risk Officer Altaf Hussain Kira. Zonal Head (Anantnag) Khavar Meraj Handoo, In-Charge (Transaction Monitoring Cell) Bilal Ahmad Kuchay, Cluster Heads of the Zone, Lead District Managers of Anantnag and Kulgam and other senior officials were also present.

Customers shared their experiences, raised concerns about banking services and sought clarity on grievance redressal and the safe use of digital banking channels. The discussion also covered mule accounts and the risks of allowing others to use one’s account to receive or transfer funds.

Addressing the participants, General Manager (Customer Care) Narjay Gupta said, “By listening to customers alongside our Branch Managers, we can see where our processes need to work better and act on that feedback at the branch level. That is how we address grievances, make banking simpler, safer and more responsive to the people we serve.”

“The Town Hall forms part of J&K Bank’s wider initiative to strengthen customer connect and build greater trust through direct engagement”, he added.

During the interaction, the Bank officials emphasised resolving grievances within prescribed turnaround times (TATs) and keeping customers informed at each stage. With all Branch Managers of the Zone present, the meeting also gave them an opportunity to hear customers’ concerns firsthand and identify where service could improve at the branch level.

On the occasion, a resource person from Cyber Police, Anantnag, gave a detailed presentation on cyber fraud, how to recognise and prevent it, and the precautions customers can take when banking digitally.

The Bank plans to extend the series to all its Zonal Offices across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and other parts of the country, with schedules and venues to be communicated to customers in advance.
