Bandipora Police Seize Two Machines in Suspected Illegal Mining at SK Bala

BANDIPORA, November 3: Bandipora Police seized two L&T machines during an operation against alleged illegal stone extraction at SK Bala in the district early Tuesday.

Acting on specific information, a team from Police Post Ajas, accompanied by officials of the Mining Department, raided the location at around 2 am and seized the machines under relevant provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.

A fine of Rs 45,050 was also imposed in connection with the alleged illegal mining activity.

Bandipora Police said enforcement action against illegal mining would continue and warned of legal action against those found violating the law.
