Dr Zahoor Sofi seeks urgent Assessment, Relief for Hailstorm-Hit Farmers in Bandipora

Urges administration to assess damage to orchards and crops, provide eligible assistance

Bandipora, Oct 10: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference District President Bandipora, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Sofi, has urged the district administration to immediately assess damage caused by the recent hailstorm to horticulture orchards and agricultural crops and provide timely relief to affected farmers.

 

In a statement, Sofi called for an on-ground assessment of the losses and urged the Chief Horticulture Officer, Bandipora, along with officials of the Agriculture Department, to visit the affected areas and ensure that the damage is properly documented.

 

He said farmers form the backbone of the rural economy and their losses must be addressed through a fair assessment and prompt assistance.

 

Sofi urged the authorities to extend all eligible relief under government schemes and take necessary measures to support farmers facing financial losses due to the hailstorm.
