Ganderbal, September 25: MY Bharat Ganderbal organised a programme at Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Safapora, on Thursday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Prof Aasia Quyoum, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at GCET Safapora, attended the programme as the guest.
As part of the programme, a debate competition was organised on the life, thoughts and contributions of Deendayal Upadhyaya. Students participated in the debate and shared their views on the topic. The activity was coordinated by Nitish Sharma.
A cleanliness drive was also conducted across the GCET Safapora campus, with students cleaning different areas of the institution. The drive was coordinated by Wasil Ayoub, National Youth Volunteer.
The programme focused on student participation, cleanliness and civic responsibility, with the organisers stating that such activities provide young people opportunities to participate in community-oriented programmes.
The programme was organised by MY Bharat Ganderbal under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
