Ganderbal, September 17: MY Bharat Srinagar, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organised a ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Connect’ programme at Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal on Thursday to sensitise youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
The programme witnessed participation from Youth Icons, District Youth Officer (DYO), Nodal Officer, MY Bharat volunteers, National Youth Volunteers (NYVs), students and other youth participants.
Wasil Ayoub, National Youth Volunteer (NYV) with My Bharat Kendra, Ganderbal, represented MY Bharat at the programme and delivered presentations on MY Bharat and the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD), highlighting the initiatives’ role in youth engagement and nation-building.
During the programme, participants were sensitised about the physical, psychological, social and academic consequences of substance abuse. Speakers emphasised the importance of making responsible choices, staying away from drugs and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse in their communities.
As part of the initiative, participating youth also took the MY Bharat Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and encouraging their peers, families and communities to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment by the participating youth to contribute towards the vision of a healthier and stronger ‘Viksit Bharat’ and promote the message, “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life.”
