Daman, Aug 18: The Indian Coast Guard’s Daman Air Station carried out a swift rescue operation to save nine fishermen after their boat began sinking.
According to an official press release, the Coast Guard station received a distress call and immediately launched a Chetak helicopter to the location.
Officials said the rescue operation was successfully completed, with all nine fishermen brought to safety.
Three of the rescued fishermen, who had sustained injuries, were provided first aid at the Indian Coast Guard Air Station, Daman, before being shifted to a government hospital for further medical treatment.
The prompt response by the Coast Guard averted a potentially serious maritime emergency and ensured the safe evacuation of all nine fishermen.
