SHOPIAN, July 25: Continuing its sustained crackdown on illegal mining, Shopian Police seized one Lnt, one JCB and two Dumpers involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from Turkwangam area of the district.
During routine patrolling a police party from Police Post Turkwangam intercepted and seized one Lnt, one JCB and two Dumpers involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals without valid royalty documents. In this regard, FIR No. 95/2026 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been set into motion.
Shopian Police reiterates its firm commitment to protecting the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining.
