98 BN CRPF Clinches NKOR Inter-Battalion Cricket Championship at Sumbal

Sumbal, June 29: The three-day North Kashmir Operational Range (NKOR) Inter-Battalion CRPF Cricket Championship concluded at Wangipora Cricket Ground in Sumbal on Monday, with 98 Battalion CRPF defeating 45 Battalion CRPF in the final to lift the championship trophy.

The tournament witnessed participation from nine operational battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployed across North Kashmir. The championship was organised to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, camaraderie and team spirit among CRPF personnel while encouraging recreational activities alongside their operational responsibilities.

Commandant Apoorwa of 45 Battalion CRPF attended the event as the chief guest. Addressing the participants, he highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining physical fitness, mental resilience and teamwork, particularly for personnel serving in the challenging operational environment of the Kashmir Valley.

The concluding ceremony was attended by senior CRPF officers, including Second-in-Command Dharmendra Singh, who congratulated both the winning and runner-up teams for their spirited performances.

The officers appreciated all participants for displaying discipline, teamwork and a high standard of sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The championship concluded with the presentation of trophies and prizes to the winners and outstanding performers, marking the successful culmination of the three-day sporting event.
