Parliamentary Panel to Submit Report on Passport-Related Issues in JK: Arun Govil

Jammu, June 22: BJP Member of Parliament Arun Govil, who is part of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, on Monday said the panel held discussions on passport-related issues in Jammu and Kashmir and would submit its report after considering the feedback and suggestions received during its visit.

Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Govil said the committee interacted with officials and reviewed various matters concerning the issuance of passports in the Union Territory.

“We held discussions on the issuance of passports and also took some suggestions. Based on this, we will submit our report,” Govil said.

He said the purpose of the committee’s visit was to examine multiple issues relating to passport services in Jammu and Kashmir and gather inputs from stakeholders.

“We got feedback and suggestions. We will submit our report,” he added.

Commenting on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Govil said it was good to be in the Union Territory and described the prevailing situation as normal.

“It is good to be in Jammu and Kashmir. There is normalcy here,” he said.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs is currently reviewing issues related to passport services and associated matters as part of its visit to Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
