JKGLTF Meets DSEK, Raises Pending Promotion and Service-Related Issues of Teachers

Srinagar, June 8: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), led by Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, Vice President of the Teachers Federation of India (TFI) and Founder Member of JKGLTF, on Monday met the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and senior officials of the School Education Department to discuss various issues concerning the teaching fraternity.

During the meeting, the delegation strongly raised the issue of pending promotions in different cadres of the School Education Department and urged the authorities to expedite the process. The delegation emphasized that delayed promotions have been a long-pending concern among teachers and sought early resolution of the matter.

The Director School Education Kashmir informed the delegation that the promotion process is under active consideration and assured that promotions are on the cards.

The JKGLTF delegation also met the Personal Officer (PO) to the Director School Education Kashmir and the Chief Accounts Officer, where several service-related and welfare issues of teachers were discussed in detail.

The Forum projected concerns related to teachers’ welfare, service matters and other pending issues affecting the teaching community. The officers gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner.

The delegation comprised Ghulam Nabi, Zahoor Ahmad Lone, Mehraj Ahmad Bhat, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Zahoor Jan, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Fayaz Ahmad and Javid Ahmad Dar.

The JKGLTF appreciated the positive response and cooperative approach of the Director School Education Kashmir and other senior officers. The Forum expressed hope that the long-pending demands of teachers would be resolved at the earliest in the larger interest of the education sector and the teaching community of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Forum reiterated its commitment to working constructively with the government and education authorities for the welfare of teachers and the strengthening of the education system across the Union Territory.
