Srinagar, May 25: The Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum has expressed gratitude to the Government for granting one-day special casual leave on May 29 on the occasion of the third day of Eid-ul-Adha for employees of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued to the Kashmir Convener, the Forum said the decision has been widely welcomed by employees across the Union Territory and reflects the Government’s compassionate and employee-friendly approach.

The Forum stated that Eid-ul-Adha is among the holiest and most significant festivals of the Muslim community and is observed with religious devotion and social responsibilities.

It said the festival involves important religious obligations, including sacrifice, distribution of meat among relatives, neighbours and the poor, besides various family and community engagements. The additional leave, it added, would provide relief to employees and enable them to perform their religious duties smoothly.

The Forum further said that such welfare-oriented measures strengthen trust and mutual respect between employees and the administration while promoting religious harmony and social goodwill.

The organisation also hoped that similar positive measures would continue in future, including consideration of special leave on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate employees in celebrating religious festivals with their families.
