Ganderbal, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal successfully concluded a football tournament with a grand finale at Government Physical Education College Gadoora, marked by high enthusiasm and impressive sportsmanship.
Organised as part of youth engagement and community outreach initiatives, the tournament witnessed participation from 16 teams across the district.
In a thrilling final match, Poison FC defeated Comrade FC by 5–1 to lift the trophy.
The event was attended by Principal of the college Dr. Showkat Hussain, DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Umer Urfan, DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal Altaf Khan, along with other senior police officials, sports department representatives, civil society members, and a large gathering of spectators.
Officials reiterated the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police to promote sports and strengthen police-public relations through such initiatives.
The winners and runners-up were felicitated with trophies, cash prizes, sports uniforms, medals, and appreciation certificates. The tournament was widely appreciated by the public for positively engaging youth and encouraging sportsmanship in the region.
