Vivek Bali Urges Railways to Introduce Vande Bharat Halt at Anantnag

Convener News Desk

Srinagar, May 1: Vivek Bali, State President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has appealed to the Union Railway Minister to introduce a scheduled halt of the Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag Railway Station.
In his appeal, Bali stated that Anantnag serves as a major commercial and tourism hub of South Kashmir, connecting several key tourist destinations and important business centres across the region. He noted that the town witnesses a high volume of passenger movement, including tourists, traders, students, and daily commuters.
He emphasized that despite its strategic importance, the absence of a Vande Bharat Express halt at the station is causing inconvenience to the public. Introducing a stop, he said, would significantly improve accessibility, reduce travel time, and provide modern rail connectivity to a large section of the population.
Bali further highlighted that Anantnag acts as a gateway to prominent tourist destinations and plays a vital role in boosting tourism and the local economy. A halt for the Vande Bharat Express, he added, would benefit both residents and visitors while strengthening tourism infrastructure and commercial activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the Railway Ministry to consider the demand on priority and take immediate steps to include Anantnag Railway Station as a designated halt on the route.
The SBSP leader reiterated that the party remains committed to raising public concerns and advocating development-oriented initiatives for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
