Bandipora Girl Nazrana Ahsan Selected for All-Women Youth Parliament at SKICC

Bandipora, April 17: Bringing pride to her parents and the Bandipora district, Nazrana Ahsan has emerged as the only girl from the district to be selected for the prestigious all-women Mock Youth Parliament held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre during the MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026 (Grand Finale – Zone 1: J&K and Ladakh).

The two-day national-level event, held on April 12–13, was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the theme “Nari Shakti: Viksit Bharat Ki Awaaz.”

Nazrana secured her place through a rigorous multi-stage national selection process that witnessed participation from over 12 lakh youth across the country. She successfully cleared multiple rounds, including online quizzes and essay competitions, reflecting exceptional merit, dedication, and perseverance.

At the event, she represented the Ministry of External Affairs in the all-women Youth Parliament—an initiative aligned with the vision of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam aimed at enhancing women’s representation in governance. During the proceedings, she actively contributed to discussions on governance, diplomacy, and policymaking, demonstrating confidence, clarity of thought, and strong leadership skills.

Apart from the parliamentary simulation, she also participated in the MY Bharat Budget Quest, engaging in deliberations on budgetary awareness and policy frameworks, highlighting her keen interest in public policy and governance.

The initiative provided a platform for young women to understand parliamentary processes and voice their ideas on national issues. Nazrana’s participation stands as a testament to the growing involvement of youth, especially women from districts like Bandipora, in shaping the country’s democratic future.

Her achievement not only marks a significant personal milestone but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring youth, particularly young women, encouraging them to step forward and participate in leadership platforms and nation-building initiatives.
