Jammu, April 17: Theatre group Rangyug on Friday announced the staging of its acclaimed production “Ek Tha Gadha…” at Abhinav Theatre on April 18 at 5:00 PM.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the venue, where noted theatre director Deepak Kumar shared details about the play. Written by legendary playwright Sharad Joshi, the production is widely regarded as a timeless socio-political satire.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar described the play as “a witty and powerful reflection of society that continues to remain relevant even today.” He added that “Ek Tha Gadha…” has been one of Rangyug’s most celebrated works, consistently earning appreciation from audiences and critics alike.
The director highlighted that the production features a large ensemble cast of over 25 actors, including seasoned performers as well as emerging artists. He noted that the group has consciously included young talent to provide them with a meaningful platform and nurture the next generation of theatre practitioners.
Several senior members of the troupe, including Raj Kumar Behrupia, Ashish Sharma, Soham Kashyap, Shivan Gupta, Isha Ankur Bamba, Kuldeep Chouhan, Surinder Sharma and others, were present at the press conference along with the full production team.
Reaffirming the group’s commitment to meaningful theatre, Deepak Kumar said Rangyug continues to focus on engaging, socially relevant productions while encouraging fresh talent.
The organisers have invited theatre enthusiasts and the general public to attend the performance, appealing for wide participation and support for live theatre.
