Two Brothers Drown during Sheep Bathing in South Kashmir’s Bijbeharan; Bodies Recovered

BIJBEHARA, April 13: A heartbreaking incident was reported from the Padshahibagh area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir, where two brothers lost their lives after drowning in the Jhelum River on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Majid Ahmad Malik and Shahid Ahmad Malik, both residents of Jabalipora. As per initial information, the siblings were near the riverbank tending to sheep when they accidentally slipped into the water and were unable to escape the strong current.

Following the incident, a large-scale rescue operation was immediately launched involving local police, SDRF teams, and residents of the area. After several hours of intense search efforts, the bodies of both brothers were recovered from the river.
